What DriverRank cannot do.
This is not about what the test does — that is in How It Works. This is the exact opposite: what the test is not, what it will not show, and where its result carries no weight. Use it for reflection, not as a decision basis for third parties.
A self-assessment instrument for measuring metacognition and attitudes.
The core of the DriverRank method is an adaptive questionnaire. It returns two independent scores — S-Score (safety) and P-Score (performance) — and a calibration signal Δ. Tier T1–T8 is a band on a fixed scale whose boundaries are derived from published research and frozen — it is not a ranking within the user population.
The result is informational feedback within the scope of the instrument, relative to the population norm at the time of the test. It serves as reflection — how closely your self-assessment aligns with measured responses, where the strengths are, where the gaps lie.
What it is not
Six boundaries that DriverRank does not cross — regardless of how high a tier you receive.
An officially recognised document of fitness to drive
Tier T1–T8 does not replace driving school exams, periodic medical examinations, or the psychological assessment of a driver under Act No. 8/2009 Coll. on Road Traffic.
Ref. Act No. 8/2009 Coll. §87Medical, neurological, or psychological assessment
The reaction test measures RT in a standardised browser context. It does not assess neurological status, concentration under clinical fatigue, the effect of medication, or the effect of illness.

We will not send your result to your insurer and we do not present it as a basis for insurance claims. If anyone elsewhere tells you otherwise — do not believe them.
GDPR Art. 22 — no automated decision-makingHR tool or employment law evidence
Profiling for recruitment or employment law decisions (dismissal, remuneration) is not the purpose of the service. We do not give tiers to employers — not even on personal request.
No profiling for third partiesEvidence in insurance or criminal proceedings
The result has no evidentiary value in criminal or civil proceedings. The scoring model is a statistical estimate, not a forensic reconstruction.
No legal weight in proceedingsForecast of your future accidents or claims
The tier reflects current metacognition and attitudes to driving. Accidents depend on many factors beyond metacognition — fatigue, road conditions, vehicle technology, other road users.
Correlation ≠ causationSpecific scenarios
If you have the question "can I use the result for X?" in mind, here is a quick map:
Use at your own risk
No self-assessment tool is perfect and DriverRank does not claim otherwise. Specific risks we acknowledge:
- False confidence — a high tier may lead to reduced vigilance. The tier is earned; it must be revalidated on the road every day.
- Over- / under-estimation of calibration — the calibration signal Δ shows how realistically you see yourself compared to the questionnaire. Δ is not a punishment; it is information. Responding to it by reducing confidence behind the wheel is not the goal.
- Population sample — population norms are stratified by age and country. For small cohorts (n < 200) we display a warning and the tier may be less reliable.
- Self-report bias — you answer, not a camera. The test measures how you describe yourself, not necessarily how you behave.
These limits are not small print — they are a material part of the method. The full technical analysis is in How It Works §04.
If you encounter a discrepancy
If the result seems clearly off, if you encounter a question that seems ambiguous, or if you spot a logical error in the scoring — let us know at hello@mydriverrank.com. We do not hide the methodology; we correct discrepancies publicly, not quietly.
And if you want to go deeper — How It Works will expand on the theoretical basis, score calculation, and population norms. Here we are only covering what the method does not do.
