Terms of use.

Seven sections covering what you can do with DriverRank and what to expect from us. Plain prose, no "parties agree". In the event of any conflict with contract performance, this document takes precedence.

01 / About the service

DriverRank is an online driver competence assessment for individual use. The test is adaptive, ~20 minutes on average. It evaluates two independent scores (S-Score and P-Score), places you in a tier T1–T8, and returns a calibration signal. The service is in active development (version 0.4 — MVP) and is available free of charge in the Beta phase.

Terms version 1.0 · effective 2026-05-14

By using the service — whether as an anonymous respondent or a registered user — you express your agreement to these terms as they stand. If you cannot agree, do not use the service — that is the fair way to handle disagreement.

02 / Account and registration

The test can be taken without registration. In that case you will receive an anonymous token (UUID) which you save yourself — without the token neither you nor we can retrieve the result. An account adds three things: result history, an email with your result, and re-test reminders.

2.1 — Creating an account

Just email and password

Registration requires a working email and password (min. 12 characters). We store passwords only as a bcrypt hash with cost factor 12 — never in readable form. Accounts are for persons aged 18 and over. You confirm your age at registration; the anonymous test without an account is not age-restricted.

2.2 — Identity

One account per person

You register the account in your own name, not someone else's. Accounts for bots, synthetic test scenarios or "account transfers" to another person are not permitted — the tier is generated from your answers and cannot be transferred.

2.3 — Account deletion

Your click, our execution

You can delete your account in Account Settings. Deletion is free, we execute within 30 days (usually immediately). After deletion, access to history ceases — you can export your data before deletion. Anonymised records in the population pool remain; see Privacy Policy.

2.4 — Account suspension

We act only on abuse

We may suspend an account if we determine it violates §3 of these terms (botting, scraping, security probe without disclosure). We will notify you by email with a specific reason and the opportunity to remedy.

03 / Usage rules

A short list of what you can and cannot do. The rules are not about making your life difficult — they are about keeping the service results useful for others.

You can

Take the test for yourself

Without registration or with an account. The test is free, unlimited re-tests (with a natural cooldown in the UI).

You can

Share your result

A public link to your tier via a signed token (12 months). You decide who to send it to; we just generate it.

You can

Cite the method in your work

The adaptive questionnaire, S/P-Score, and tier T1–T8 are publicly documented in How It Works. Cite us — we welcome it.

You can

Export your data

JSON export of all your answers and scores on request within 30 days (GDPR Art. 20).

You cannot

Share questions with third parties

The Q-bank is proprietary. Publishing specific questions devalues measurement for other respondents and violates §4.

You cannot

Botting, scraping, fake accounts

Automated answering distorts population norms. We carry out detection transparently — when suspending an account we will state a specific reason.

You cannot

Reverse-engineer the scoring model

Actively uncovering weights, the tier formula, or internal calibration through probing constitutes a terms violation. We do not hide the science — see How It Works.

You cannot

Present the result as a certification

Tier T1–T8 is not an officially recognised certificate or a substitute for examinations under Act No. 8/2009 Z.z. Do not represent it as such to an insurer, employer, or authority.

If you are not sure whether a particular use falls under "you can" or "you cannot", write to hello@mydriverrank.com. We will reply within five business days.

04 / Intellectual property

DriverRank content — Q-bank, scoring model, interface design, method documentation, illustrations, icons — is subject to copyright. The relationships are simple:

4.1 — Ours

Q-bank, model, UI

The question bank (questions, answers, weights), the scoring algorithm, UI/UX design, branding, and documentation content are the intellectual property of DriverRank s.r.o. Without our consent they may not be reproduced, distributed, or derived into commercial or public products. Citation of the method in an academic context is welcome.

4.2 — Yours

Your answers and result

Your answers, score, and calibration signal are yours. You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process them for the purpose of evaluating the test and — in anonymised form — for inclusion in the population pool. We do not otherwise publish, sell, or share them with third parties.

4.3 — Third parties

Roadcraft, GDE, FIA SDC, ADAC/DEKRA

Methodological references belong to their original authors. Roadcraft is a registered trademark of the UK Police Driver Training authority. GDE Matrix is an academic framework (Hatakka et al., 2002). FIA SDC and ADAC/DEKRA RT benchmarks are licensed for reference purposes. Details of what is used where — How It Works §02.

05 / Mirror, not a diagnosis

This is the most important section of these terms. Read it at least once, even if you skip the rest.

Method limits

DriverRank measures attitude and awareness, not real-world driving.

DriverRank is a self-assessment tool, not a certification. Tier T1–T8 does not represent legal fitness to drive a vehicle, medical fitness-to-drive assessment, or ability to succeed on a specific route, in a specific vehicle, or in a crisis situation.

Specifically — DriverRank:

  • does not replace examinations under Act No. 8/2009 Z.z. or instructor evaluation,
  • is not a medical, neurological, or psychological diagnosis,
  • does not provide grounds for insurance calculations or employment decisions,
  • does not serve as forensic evidence in insurance or criminal proceedings,
  • does not predict your future accident statistics.

The result is informational feedback on your metacognition and attitudes — within the scope of the questionnaire, under the scoring-rules version in force at the time of the test. Use it for reflection, not as a decision-making basis for third parties.

The full statement of method limits is in How It Works §04. These limits are a material part of these terms and cannot be contractually circumvented.

06 / Limitation of liability

We do our best. We also have limits — technical and legal. Here is what we guarantee and what we do not.

What we guarantee

  • Availability — the service will be available in the Beta phase with a target availability of 99.5% per month. We do not publish a Beta SLA, but outages longer than 4 hours are announced on the status page and within 24 hours by email to registered users.
  • Method consistency — we change the scoring model only in versions (v1.0 → v1.1 etc.). Your historical result will remain bound to the version in which it was calculated, and you will be able to interpret it the same way in 12 months as today.
  • Incident response — a security incident affecting personal data will be reported to the Data Protection Authority within 72 hours and to you without undue delay (Art. 33 GDPR).
  • Support response — we reply within 5 business days, usually within two.

What we do not guarantee

  • That your tier accurately reflects real-world driving in any given context (see §5).
  • That the recommended training plan will solve your specific situation — they are orientation pointers, not a curriculum.
  • That a re-test after a short time will show a significantly different result — the population norm and methodology are stable.
  • That the benchmark pool will remain large enough for statistically reliable tier output in small countries (we display a warning at n < 200).

Limitation of damages

To the maximum extent permitted by law — liability of DriverRank s.r.o. to the user is limited to direct, foreseeable damage caused by gross negligence or intentional breach of duty. Indirect damages, lost profit, damages from decisions of third parties made on the basis of the tier, or damages from service interruption are not compensated. This limitation does not apply to damages that the legal order prohibits from being limited (e.g. intent, gross negligence in the protection of life and health).

07 / Changes, law, contact

Changes to these terms

We update the terms from time to time. Minor changes (typos, clarifications) are made as a silent update with a new date below. Material changes (new rights, obligations, restrictions, processors) will be communicated by email to registered users at least 30 days before taking effect. If you do not accept a change, you may delete your account before it takes effect — we preserve your right to "leave without penalty".

Governing law and courts

These terms and all relationships arising from them are governed by the laws of the Slovak Republic. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the competent court in the Slovak Republic pursuant to the Code of Civil Procedure. Before going to court, please — write to us at hello@mydriverrank.com. We can resolve 90% of disagreements by email.

Consumer and alternative dispute resolution

If you are a consumer and we cannot reach agreement, you may contact an alternative dispute resolution body — Slovak Trade Inspection, soi.sk, or the EU online platform for ODR ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

Severability clause

If any provision of these terms is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in force. The invalid provision will be replaced by the nearest valid formulation that pursues the same purpose.
